How We Think About Estate Planning

Your estate plan isn't a stack of documents in a drawer. It's the set of decisions that determines who raises your kids, who manages your money if you can't, and whether your family ends up in court after you're gone.

How We Think About Estate Planning

Your estate plan isn't a stack of documents in a drawer. It's the set of decisions that determines who raises your kids, who manages your money if you can't, and whether your family ends up in court after you're gone.

We take the time to understand your situation (your family, your assets, your concerns) and build a plan around it. That means wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and living wills drafted under the right state's law, whether that's Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas. It also means we tell you when something needs updating, because a plan that doesn't keep up with your life isn't really a plan.

Who We Work With

When your estate plan touches taxes, investments, or insurance, we coordinate directly with your CPA and financial advisor. You don't have to play middleman or wonder if everyone's on the same page. If you don't already have those relationships, we'll point you in the right direction.

What You Can Expect

Ron Ward has practiced for over 25 years across four states. The firm is small by design. You'll work directly with your attorney, not a rotating cast of associates. We return calls, we explain things in plain English, and we don't bill you for the privilege of being confused.

If you've been putting this off, that's normal. Most people do. But the best time to get your plan in place is before you need it. Call us at 985-231-0231.

Night-and-day difference from the "holistic approach... tailored to your unique needs" language that was there before. Want me to package all four sections (Estate Planning, Business, Real Estate, About Us) into a single doc you can hand off to whoever updates your site?

Starting a business means making decisions now that you'll live with for years. The entity you choose, the way you structure ownership, the agreements you put in place (or don't) — all of it matters when money gets tight, a partner wants out, or someone sues.

We form LLCs, corporations, and partnerships across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. We draft the operating agreements, partnership contracts, and bylaws that keep things running when the initial excitement wears off. And when disputes come up — over authority, buyouts, or who owes what — we handle those too.

If you're launching something new or realize your existing business paperwork hasn't been touched in years, call us at 985-231-0231.

Whether you're buying your first commercial property or closing on your fiftieth residential deal, the paperwork needs to be right. One missed clause in a purchase agreement can cost you more than the attorney ever would have.

We handle purchase and sale agreements, title review, and closing representation for commercial and residential transactions. When a deal goes sideways, we litigate. And for projects that need government approval — zoning changes, land use permits, variance requests — we represent clients before federal, state, and local agencies.

We've done this on deals ranging from single-family homes to large-scale commercial developments. Call us at 985-231-0231 to talk through yours.

Attorney

J Ronald Ward Jr

Ron Ward has practiced law on the Northshore since 2001. He handles estate planning, business formations, contract work, and real estate, and he's licensed in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Arizona.

Before landing in Mandeville, Ron litigated complex commercial cases at firms in New Orleans. That background means he doesn't just draft documents: he drafts them with an eye toward what happens when things go sideways.

Ron's approach is direct. He'll tell you what you need, explain why, and get it done without dragging things out. Clients come back because he communicates clearly, responds quickly, and treats their time like it matters.

Education: Juris Doctor, LSU Law Center. B.S. in Finance, University of New Orleans.

Bar admissions: Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arizona.

Professional involvement: Louisiana State Bar Association (Young Lawyers Section Council), American Bar Association (Louisiana Young Lawyer representative), New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, Louisiana Land Title Association.
